Sri Lanka Army together with Motor Racing Association conducted the ‘Kukule Ganga Speed Hill Climb’ on 10th and 11th April 2021 at the newly built motor racing track at Kukule Ganga Army camp. The motor cycle events were conducted on the 10th while on the 11th Motor Car events were conducted. This was the longest Hill Climb in Sri Lanka covering a distance of 900 meters and the drivers and riders were advised to handle their vehicles in a disciplined manner to rise up to a height of 75 meters above sea level. Ashan Silva emerged as the champion driver once again. This victory gave Ashan his third successive Speed Hill Climb win. It was also a new record lowering his own set last year. Aaron Gunawardena was the star on this day on the two-wheelers winning two events ahead of his elder brother. The Hill Climb was well conducted following all health guidelines and the Organizers had the fullest co-operation from the Motor Racing Association and Southern Motor Sports Club who did a fine job.
