The Super exciting Sigiriya Rally Cross was held on 27th of May, with occasional showers on the dusty grounds at the Kimbissa Airforce racing track. It is the only track in the island with two contrasting conditions on a single lap, tarmac and gravel. In the 5th edition of the unique racing competition the reigning champions Ashan and Ishan became the Best driver and rider once again, Ishan making it for the third time in a row. It was too competitive for Ishan with two fierce rivals behind, young Evon who won the 2nd race in MX racing up to 250cc event and Buddhika Kasun who later faced an unfortunate accident, gave a terrific stiff challenge to Ishan. Ashan Silva won both races in SL GT Cars up to 3500cc event. Kushan and Missaka Naveen had to satisfy with 2nd and 3rd places in the first and exchanged their positions in the second race. Supermotard event was completely occupied by Imal Manchanayaka.
